Although I didn't have the script or any other pre production even started i began my ideas by putting together this mood-board so i could show what feel i was going for and what the theme of the film would be. I took a lot of inspiration for my short from two of my favorite directors, Quentin Tarantino and Edgar Wright, who have made some of my favorite films such as Django, Resevior dogs, Baby Driver and the the whole cornetto trilogy. I mainly love these films for their style of cinematography and the how visually fascinating they are. One of Wright's components to a film is the way it is edited and the cuts, transitions and movements of either the camera and characters go along to the soundtrack. he cuts a shot to the beats of the song and this to me is a very interesting way to make the film more of a pleasure to watch. So i wanted to recreate this feeling in such a way but to also involve some of my own stylistic choices into my short. I also took advice from Tarantino because he says that "music and film work hand in hand with each other" so using this bit of advice i made a playlist of songs ranging from country to pop and i found a style that i thought would fit my film very well and it was indie, soft rock. Once finding this i made a playlist of loads of songs from this genre and the ideas, script and story were all made and my short film was born.
